Fundación Privada de Fieles Centro de Multiservicios Educativos CEMSE

CEMSE

We are a work of the Society of Jesus in Bolivia, working since 1985 at the service of Bolivian education, with the aim of promoting “equal opportunities in education and health”, especially for excluded or socially disadvantaged populations.

CEMSE has been a model for the construction of more than 20 Multiservice Centers throughout the country. We currently work in La Paz, El Alto, Pucarani, Sucre and Cochabamba, offering different services in education, health and local development through the dynamization of economies.

We work with parents, teachers, children, adolescents and youth, popular health care providers, school brigades, and productive and entrepreneurial communities. We have interdisciplinary work teams, composed of educators, doctors, nurses, engineers, mathematicians, physicists, business administrators, auditors, communicators, agronomists, classroom teachers and facilitators.

Our Vision

“CEMSE is an institution that promotes equal opportunities in education and health with good innovative and productive practices”.

Our Mission

“To conceive and build participative and replicable models in education and primary health that promote the human development of the most vulnerable population of Bolivia, contributing in this way to local and national development, supporting processes of improvement of the State tending to overcome the indices of poverty”.

Our Principles

  1. Quality education and health care are fundamental rights of all citizens without any exclusion.
  2. Solutions to the problems of the target population are comprehensive, interdisciplinary, meaningful and relevant, with a focus on education and health for life and development.
  3. Human rights, environmental preservation, and a global vision of the world are oriented towards the search for the “greater good” and constitute the framework for defining institutional interventions.
  4. Because of the spirit and democratic nature of the institution, its interventions are framed by the legal norms in force.
  5. The central subject of CEMSE’s actions is the person with the capacity to build a free, fair and inclusive society.
  6. CEMSE’s interventions are “life experiences”, which use technologies, experimentation, research, reading and communication, the development of universal languages and the living out of values as means.
  7. CEMSE’s interventions are integral, multi-sectoral, inter-temporal, inter-generational, intercultural, and have a gender and rights approach.

Institutional Values

  1. Transparency, in the fulfillment of agreements both with the target population, with the general population and with our funders.
  2. Justice and a culture of peace, being facilitators of a social conscience for the inclusive coexistence and the harmonious development of people and communities.
  3. Freedom, which develops in people and communities, the ability to build their own destinies, thoughts and actions, within the framework of democratic coexistence, as a basis for achieving a better quality of life with dignity.
  4. Equality of opportunities, which inspires the institution’s Vocation of Service under the motto: “the greater the poverty, the greater the quality and warmth of our intervention”.
